BASIC COURSE FOR PPE USERS

Course description:

The participants will learn the basic principles of accident prevention and be trained in how to safely use their personal protective equipment.

They will get to know different protection products and learn about where they are used and how to use them.

The participants will also learn how to carry out a simple rescue of a person who has had an accident, including suspension relief. They will become familiar with the medical consequences of suspension trauma and the immediate life-saving measures that can be used.

Target audience:

Individuals who use fall arrest personal protective equipment in their job and work in elevated locations.

Target knowledge:

After completing the course, the participants will have knowledge of:

– basic legal information
– correct use of personal protective equipment
– suspension relief
– using independent rescue measures
– providing basic medical care for suspension trauma

Requirements:

Participants must have a good head for heights and not be prone to vertigo

ADVANCED TRAINING REFRESHER COURSE FOR PPE USERS

BASIC CONTENT:

Refreshing existing knowledge, information on any revisions or updates (based on the current equipment available), strengthening participants’ ability to work with fall arrest PPE, consolidating knowledge of rescue equipment and learning more advanced techniques. Working with various life-saving appliances.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Individuals who have already completed a basic course for PPE users.

TARGET KNOWLEDGE:

The knowledge acquired in the basic course will be refreshed, and participants will practice different rescue missions using various rescue equipment. Participants will be shown additional ways to implement fall arrest measures.

REQUIREMENTS:

Participants must have completed a basic course for PPE users, have a good head for heights and not be prone to vertigo.

PPE SPECIALIST COURSE

Course description:

Training as a PPE specialist in accordance with BGG 906 new (Principle 312-906 of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV)). This course provides participants with the knowledge required to carry out and correctly document expert inspections of fall arrest personal protective equipment. Participants will learn the relevant European standards and their meaning and be provided with an explanation of CE category III.

Target audience:

Safety officers or individuals responsible for inspecting personal protective equipment

Target knowledge:

Participants will learn what they need to examine when inspecting fall arrest personal protective equipment. They will find out what details and information need to be recorded and documented. They will also learn how to assess products in order to determine whether they are admissible for further use.

Requirements:

No special prior knowledge required.

ROPE ACCESS TECHNICIAN LEVEL 1

BASIC CONTENT:

When it comes to working safely, flexibly and cost-effectively at great heights or in locations that are difficult to access, using rope access techniques is an optimal solution.
For the safe use of such techniques in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, workers need to complete well-established and recognised training. FISAT courses are internationally recognised for work that involves being suspended by ropes.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Individuals who use rope access techniques to carry out work such as assembly tasks, repairs, documentation and maintenance work, cleaning and similar tasks on sections of buildings and structures that are difficult to access.

TARGET KNOWLEDGE:

Participants will learn how to safely use the required basic equipment and learn the standard rescue options used to return workers safely to the ground. They will be taught a method that has been tried and tested in practice based on international standards for using abseiling and climbing techniques to work on horizontal structures.

REQUIREMENTS:

Participants must be at least 18 years old and be able to present a certificate of participation in a first-aid course completed no earlier than 24 months before the training course.

Course description:

Building on the content of the basic training and practical experience, the Rope Access Technician Level 2 course offers all of the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to use rope access techniques safely and effectively, even in complex situations.

Target audience:

Site supervision managers who have already successfully completed the Level 1 course.

Target knowledge:

Participants will learn a safe method that has been tried and tested in practice based on international standards for using abseiling and climbing techniques to work on horizontal structures and rescue people from such difficult conditions.

Requirements:

Participants must provide valid evidence of completion of a FISAT Level 1 course and be able to present a certificate of participation in a first-aid course completed no earlier than 24 months before the training course. They must be determined, enjoy working on suspended ropes and be able to provide evidence of practical experience (rope hours).

Qualification:

BASIC CONTENT:

Based on the further training provided on the Rope Access Technician Level 2 course and practical experience, the Rope Access Technician Level 3 course provides all theoretical and practical knowledge required to manage rope access operations as a supervisor of work carried out at height.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

The Rope Access Technician Level 3 qualification is particularly appropriate for management staff such as site managers and contractors in the area of rope access techniques for the responsible implementation of the legal requirements.

TARGET KNOWLEDGE:

Participants will learn a safe method that has been tried and tested in practice based on international standards for using abseiling and climbing techniques to work on buildings and structures.

The main focuses of the course are:

  • Legal requirements and regulations
  • Identifying dangers and assessing risks for rope access techniques
  • Operation instructions, briefings and accident prevention instructions

REQUIREMENTS:

Rope Access Technician Level 2 qualification, valid evidence of completion of a FISAT Level 2 course and corresponding practical experience in using rope access techniques.

Course description:

The basic installation course takes place over two days. On the first day, the participants will be provided with comprehensive knowledge of the planning criteria for fall protection, legal requirements and liabilities. On the second day, the products (components of rope systems, anchorage points) will be introduced and explained. In the practical part of the course, the participants will install the rope system and its components and be taught about specific installation details.

Target audience:

Individuals who want to learn how to install and inspect rope systems.

Target knowledge:

After completing the course, participants will know what they need to bear in mind when planning and installing rope systems. They will acquire comprehensive knowledge of how to install rope systems. After completing this training course, participants will be authorised to install, inspect and approve rope systems and anchorage points.

Requirements:

Participants must have a good head for heights and not be prone to vertigo. They must have completed a basic course for PPE users.

Qualification:

Certificate, confirmation of being able to install and inspect AUDRA Gleitstar and Ecoline rope systems.

Required materials:

Participants are responsible for bringing their own work clothes, gloves and ankle-high work shoes.

BASIC PLANNING COURSE FOR ANCHORAGE DEVICES

BASIC CONTENT:

Participants will be provided with sound knowledge on the planning and design of fall arrest systems on roofs and in locations at heights. They will learn the legal planning criteria, become familiar with the different options that should be used to implement fall arrest measures and be able to choose the right option to protect workers.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Individuals responsible for planning fall arrest systems, planning engineers, architects, project managers and, of course, installation staff who install such systems.

TARGET KNOWLEDGE:

After completing the course, participants will know what they need to bear in mind when planning and installing anchorage devices. They will acquire comprehensive knowledge of the basic principles and legal regulations connected to fall arrest systems. After completing this course, they will be able to correctly plan fall arrest systems using the current equipment available.

REQUIREMENTS:

No special prior knowledge required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Confirmation in accordance with the Swiss Transport Driver Licensing Ordinance (CZV) is available upon completion of all Basic Courses for PPE Users.
  • An additional fee of CHF 30 will be charged for CZV confirmation.
  • The training courses are held for a total of eight participants per course with one instructor.
  • Individual course dates can also be reserved on request. A minimum group size of four participants is required in order to run the Basic Course for PPE Users.
  • An additional Saturday fee of CHF 300 – will be charged in addition to the course fees for basic courses held on a Saturday.
